What is an Observatory?

An observatory can be a small as a permanently-mounted telescope under a tarp, as big as the 10-meter Keck Telescopes in Hawaii, and everything in between.   

As far as amateur observatories go, CBBHO strives to be quite ambitious.  In this arena, anything requiring a set of plans means that there are millions of things to think about and tons of people to get involved. 

Keep in mind that a structure built for astronomy requires a certain number of considerations, since there are potential liabilities that must be addressed in the design.
